Therapies following the chinese concept and therapeutic methods seek not only to treat the illness but the ill person as a whole entity, where you cannot dissacociate the Qi (energy) from the physical or mental body. The symptoms that appear in the physical body are considered the branch of the unbalance. They are important as they serve to help find the origen of the internal unbalance; that would be considered the root. For this Chinese Medicine does not only treat the branch of the problem ( the symptoms like in most weastern medicine) but the root of the unbalance.
